How Do I Request an Account?

Posted on February 3, 2011

All account holders in ECE must first have an account issued by Andrew Computing. You can find information on Andrew Accounts here. Your ECE account ID will match the one issued by Andrew.

Accounts for graduate and undergraduate students are created automatically. For access to additional machines, please send mail to help@ece.cmu.edu.

New staff and faculty appointments require mail to help@ece.cmu.edu for account creation.

The following table provides a guideline for where requests should be sent.

Type of Account Staff Faculty & Researchers Graduate Students Undergrad Students
Oracle Send mail to it-help@cmu.edu NA

Newer accounts all use Andrew Account – some legacy systems still use ECE accounts.
