Shimp Collaborative Computer Cluster

The Shimp Collaborative Computer Center is located on the C Level of Hamerschlag Hall. Exit the main elevator, make a left and C101 is diagonal to the elevator door.

The lab is equipped with 44 workstations and an instructor station. Workstations are one of two varieties, both running Windows 7 Enterprise x64. Stations 1 through 35 consist of a Dell Precision T1500 with single Intel Core i7 2.93 GHz processors. Stations 36 through 44 and the instructor station consist of a Dell Precision T1600 with single Intel Xeon E31245 3.30 GHz processors. All systems contain an NVIDIA Quadro 600 1GB discreet graphics adapter, 500 GB SATA3 7200 rpm HDD, and 8 GB of PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM.

For printing, please use either of the two HP LaserJet M4555 multifunction black and white laser printers or use either of the two HP LaserJet P4515n black and white laser printers. Multifunction devices can also be used for scanning to e-mail and copying.

The C101 lab is open only to those Mechanical Engineering students enrolled in particular courses. A CMU ID is needed to gain access 24/7.
